Register as a Tutor - User Guide

Follow the steps below to complete your tutor registration on TuitionLanka.

Note: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. A few fields are optional - the Referral Code, Preferred Locations (unless you teach Physical classes), and the Optional Details documents.

Step 1: Personal Information

Field Descriptions

Full Name: Enter your full name. Only letters and spaces are allowed.
Email: Enter a valid email address. It is checked for availability, so it must not already be registered.
Password: Must be 8–12 characters long and contain both letters and numbers.
Confirm Password: Re-enter your password exactly to confirm it.
Contact Number: Must be a valid number containing exactly 10 digits.
Gender: Select Male or Female.
Date of Birth: You must be at least 18 years old - dates that would make you younger than 18 cannot be selected.
Age: Automatically calculated from the Date of Birth you select. This field cannot be edited directly.
Referral Code (Optional): If someone referred you, enter their referral code. It is validated against our system - an invalid code is highlighted in red and must be corrected or cleared before you can submit.

Step 2: Qualifications

Field Descriptions

Class Type: A multi-select field. You can select all the class types that apply to you (Online or Physical, Individual or Group).
Preferred Locations: A searchable multi-select field. You can select any number of cities. This field is only enabled (and becomes required) when at least one Physical class type is selected. It is optional when only Online class types are chosen.
Tutor Types: A multi-select field. You can select all the tutor types that suit you.
Highest Education Level: Your most advanced level of education. You'll need to provide supporting documents to verify it in the next step.
Years of Experience: Enter the number of years you have spent teaching.
Tutor Mediums: A multi-select field. You can select all the mediums you're able to teach in.
Grades: A multi-select field. You can select all the grades you're interested in teaching.
Subjects: A multi-select field, enabled after you select at least one grade. You must select at least one subject for every selected grade - otherwise the field is highlighted and you cannot continue.

Step 3: Verification & Agreement

The Document Type and the Uploaded File must match. Submit is only enabled once every document row has both a type selected and a file uploaded, and both agreement boxes are checked.

Field Descriptions

Educational Details (Mandatory): Upload at least one document to verify your profile. First select the Document Type, then upload the matching original document. AI-generated or edited certificates are not accepted. Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, PDF. Click "+ Add Document" to add more.
Optional Details: Not mandatory. You may upload any additional documents that support your tutor profile. Providing details here can directly affect the outcome of your profile's verification process.
I agree to the Terms and Conditions: By checking this box, you agree to receive assignment information via email and understand that rates are subject to negotiation. Admin fees may apply for successful assignments.
I agree to receive assignment information regarding new Tuition Assignments: By checking this box, you agree to receive email notifications about new tutoring assignments that match your preferences.
